Club Point Score Competition Details & Rules

Club trophies are on offer each year in-line with our membership cycle (1st July – 30th June) and are open for financial members and registered club vessels that meet all club joining requirements (see club rules for full details).

Each new season trophies open from 1st July through till 30th June, during this period members can compete for a range of trophies in different Tag and Capture Divisions. Point scoring for both divisions will be based on the New South Wales Game Fishing Association scoring tables in force at the time of the competition.

Non-Point Score Days/ Trophies

These are trophies that members can compete for any day/time of the year during the season/ membership cycle. (1st July through till 30th June annually).
Tag cards and tag/ capture book paperwork is required to be signed off by committee/ weighmaster or tournament officials and sent to the PHGFC Club Secretary within 14 days of tag/ capture of the fish to be eligible for points and trophies. This paperwork can be sent via SMS, email or handed in person to the Club Secretary. Incomplete or untimely paperwork will result in no points being awarded, It is up to each individual angler/ skipper to ensure the paperwork is completed correctly as the committee will reject it if it is not correct. (If unsure please contact a committee member/ tournament official).
If there is no regular sked being run on that day, vessels should log on with Marine Rescue

Point Score Days Competition

Each season club point score days will be confirmed by the committee and put into that seasons club calendar.
Club point score weekends are usually held on the first (1st) and third (3rd) weekend of each month. (Additional point score days can be added at the committee’s direction and added to the club calendar).
Members can elect to fish one day, either the Saturday or Sunday on these weekends
This competition usually begins with the first Central Zone Round of that season. This is usually in Mid-September.

Central Zone Rounds

Central Zone (CZ) is made up of the 7 central Sydney game fishing clubs including; Wollongong GFC, Port Hacking GFC, Botany Bay GFC, Sydney GFC, Broken Bay GFC, Central Coast GFC.
During the year each club hosts an annual tournament, if you enter one of these tournaments you are then allowed to fish both Saturday and Sunday and the points will go to your clubs total CZ tally as well as your club point score day tall for anglers and vessel points.
At the end of each season the CZ club points are tallied, and a range of trophies are awarded for the winners, including club, angler and vessel trophies.

Point Score Coordinator Information

All properly completed, approved point score/ non-point score Tag and Capture certificates are required to be sent to the Club secretary NO LATER THAN 14 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF CAPTURE.
After this time points will be null and void
It is the skipper/ angler’s responsibility to make sure all the paperwork has been executed correctly; incorrect forms will be rejected by the committee.
Paperwork can be handed directly to the secretary or sent via SMS or email only
